Has it Come to This?

Okay, I give.

Having posted NEW STUFF here, consisting of:
  1. "Word of the Day" from Dictionary.com (right column);
  2. "Philosophy Ramblings" from Britannica.com (bottom);
  3. Audio / Video, mostly to make my lectures available (right),

I feel like I at least owe it to my listeners / readers to go all the way, making a complete whitenerd-fool of myself. So I posted the infamous "Bill Boomin'" video. tobyMac will be horrified. So will my mother (God rest her soul).

Have you ever had one of those moments where you just went with the flow, let down your hair, etc. only to have it immortalized and mass-distributed? I now know what it feels like to be one of those poor saps on America's Funniest Home Videos (and lose to a kitten). Ugh.

On the other hand, there is a kind of perverse pleasure in knowing just how shocked and mindblown my children, grandchildren and former professors will be when they see this. May my foolishness be ultimately redeemed as a counterpoint to the serious tone often set by this overly Presbyterian father. Rock on (Colossians 3:23)!

Bill, we absolutely loved your video. We viewed it the weekend it was posted and it was refreshing to see you being real! It also made me feel better when I am being "real" and my daughter sheilds her face. (somewhat like Dave did) :) tobymac just brings it out in you. Keep it up Bill!!!

Don't worry Bill I did that once to Barlow Girls - I am never alone - sometimes you just have to let go...

Well.. I guess you take "finding joy in all things" to a whole new level. You feel the music, you enjoy, you express the joy... not a thing wrong with that! And just think of all the joy it brings us when we get to watch it. Laughter is good for the soul, my friend. And you got your exercise in for day as well! I'm a pretty silly mom most of the time.. keeps me young at heart. At least you're not an old fogie .. reduced to READING THE PAPER while tobyMac is jammin.. You keep on enjoying life, my friend.
God Bless

Bill - the only thing I've seen funnier than this was when my husband (white man youth pastor) danced to "I Saw Pastor Dancing" as a skit for Pastor Appreciation Day! That was awesome!!! Thanks!

Bill,
You are an 80's white boy through and through! Some things you just can't hide. Love the chair dancing!

I viewed your video and remembered hearing a man give his thoughts about why people love dog's. He basically described dog's just being who they are. Not afraid to look silly. They just hang their heads out the window of a car, tongue's flapping, ears flying, checking everything out. Not one bit afraid of looking "uncool" Well, Bill, Your'e my hero!!!!! A real inspiration.

Thanks everyone, for your kind words and letting me know I'm not alone in releasing my innner hiphop diva. Plant lady's comparing me to a floppyeared, drooling, shaggy dog was especially eye-opening. Wendy, glad I could get an LOL out of you. Josh, I do hope that was hyperbole.

Bill, Thank you for making me smile. It is nice to see you enjoy your work.. even if you do have to work with old stuff shirts. Just remember you are as old as you act. Poor Dave needs to trade in his chair for a rocker.

Bill, I think your Boomin video is great. Atleast you're having fun. Where's Carmen and Dave's Boomin video? Can't wait to see your next video.

Now THAT is what I'm talking about! Sacrifice... laying it all out for the world to see... posting it on the internet for goodness sake where it will NEVER be removed, Rock On Bill!
Well, except for that one move that I thought my husband made up and does only at home, the one with the two fingers on your chest then throwin your arm out thing, know the one? I've seen quite enough of that already thank you.
Other than that, I needed a good laugh, I do hope that we are laughing with you and not at you. God Bless you in your shamelessness.
Soli Deo Gloria!

That was very entertaining. After listening to you guys on the Cruise every morning (30 minute drive to work), it's fun to see you having fun. Besides, what a great song. I'm looking forward to the concert on Sunday. See you there!

May God's richest blessings be yours as you reflect on the extent of His love demonstrated through the death His Son on the cross and the awesomeness of His power exhibited through the resurrection.
